Welcome Students
Prepare to embark on one of the finest dining programs in the UNIverse designed specifically for students! Whether you are an incoming freshman or a returning student, Chartwells Dining services at Southern Connecticut State University has plenty of convenient dining options for you to enjoy! Some of our dining locations have been redesigned to enable you to dine longer, eat healthier and to have fun.
At Chartwells nourishing students is more than our business. Whether you call it a mission, a philosophy, or a passion, it's hard to sum up in a word. So we used three.
Eat.Learn.Live.
At Chartwells, we believe in our motto that dining services is not necessarily about feeding students as much as it is nourishing students' bodies, minds and souls. It is this belief that has allowed us to adopt a cage-free shell egg policy, a sustainable seafood policy that avoid' purchasing species from the Monterey Bay Aquarium's Seafood Watch list and a policy to discontinuing all use of Trans fat oils.
We also have a number of social responsible initiatives that include agricultural sustainability, supporting local farms, and reducing the use of antibiotics in animal production. With these programs in place, Chartwells will help you make healthier lifestyle choices. We're committed to a promise. A promise of providing quality and nutritious food with exceptional service to not only students, but also the communities we serve. If you don't see what you want, or have a question or concern, please don't hesitate to let us know.
We hope you have a prosperous and rewarding year at Southern Connecticut State University.
Sincerely,

Michael Edgar De Shaun Autry
Senior Director of Dining Services Marketing Director

Dining on Campus

Conn Hall has received our version of an extreme makeover the “Pulse on Dining (POD)” edition. We have extended the hours to 7:00am to 12:00 am 7 days a week, added new décor, an espresso bar and a coffee lounge for your leisure. Southern unveiled the new Pulse on Dining Market Place this fall semester with a grand opening ceremony. POD Market Place map

Just look at us now!
Students may now sit in booths, at counters, and in an espresso lounge with a living room like feel in addition to group tables. The new design and menu options replace traditional dining facilities with experiential “islands”– welcoming, separate platforms where students can “walk in” and interact with chefs and create their own dining experience.
SCSU is officially “Tray-Less!” During breakfast, lunch and dinner at the Pulse on Dining Market Place will not use trays during its meal periods.
Going Tray-Less has been a very successful initiative with schools across the nation. Here’s how it makes a difference:

The Michael J. Adanti Student Center Food Court continues to offer popular retail brands such as Dunkin Donuts and Sbarro's in addition to freshly grilled hamburgers from Coyote Jack's and soups by Au Bon Pain. To minimize wait time and to make your dining experience more pleasurable, both Conn Hall and the Adanti Student Center feature the popular food court style of dining.

On the run between classes, why not stop by the Bagel Wagon and grab a cup of Starbucks gourmet coffee or great tasting salads, wraps and much more. The Bagel Wagon is located on the first floor of Engelman Hall.

Conveniently located on the first floor of North Campus, you’re sure to find what you’re looking for at the North Campus Market. This destination offers convenience items and grab and go favorites. Many students flock to the North Campus market for the famous warm cookies.

Davis Hall features a Dunkin Donuts and a wide variety of market fresh deli sandwiches, wraps and gourmet salads for your enjoyment.
