  •  This plan is designed with total flexibility for resident and commuter students.  Use your meals during any meal plan time at any dining location on campus.  Use as many or as few meals each week as you choose. These meals do not expire until you use them or until the end of the semester.
 

MEAL PLAN POLICY

 
  • A Meal Plan entitles you to meals only when classes are in session.  Students who are required to remain on campus during extended breaks (Christmas, Easter) may purchase meals using Flex, Super Flex, Golden Choice or Cash.  If you withdraw from the college during the semester, a refund to your Meal Plan may be granted on a prorated basis. Flex, Super Flex and Bonus Bucks are non-refundable.
  • Changes to your Meal Plan may be made up until the end of the second week of classes each semester. Meal Plan changes must be made at the Student Accounts Office.
 
 
  • Lost or damaged ID cards may be replaced at the Public Safety Office.  Please report lost cards IMMEDIATELY!.  Meal Plans, Flex Funds and Golden Choice cannot be assesed without your ID card. A replacement fee for lost or damaged cards may apply.
  • Bonus Meals and Bonus Bucks are provided with all Meal Plans. Bonus Bucks can be used for extra meals or for guests during meal periods.  Bonus Meals are redeemable at any dining location during meal plan hours.  The value of a Bonus Meal is determined by the meal plan cash equivalence rate for the meal period selected. Excess purchase amounts over the meal plan cash equivalence may be paid for in Bonus Bucks, Flex, Super Flex, Golden Choice or Cash. Unused Bonus Meals do not transfer from semester to semester. Bonus Bucks remaining at the end of the fall semester do carry over to the spring semester. Any Bonu Bucks remaining at the end of the spring semester are forfeited.
 
 
  • MEAL PLANS AND CARDS ARE NON-TRANSFERABLE TO OTHER STUDENTS.
  • Take-out foods are not available for all-you-care-to-eat meals at the Economou Dining Hall.  All foods must be consumed while in the dining hall.

REMOVAL OF FOODS OR OTHER ITEMS IS PROHIBITED.

 The Dining Week Runs From FRIDAY MORNING Through THURSDAY NIGHT

Meal Plans 1, 2 and 3 Are Replenished To Their Full Balance Each Friday Morning. 

Uneaten Meals DO NOT Carry Over To A Subsequent Week Or Semester.

THERE ARE NO MEAL PLANS AVAILABLE IN THE SUMMER !

 

**Residents of Bosch, Frisch and Dugan Hall MUST Participate In A Meal Plan**

 

 All First Semester Freshmen

  • First semester freshmen in Bosch, Frisch or Dugan residence halls are required to participate in Plan 1 or 2

     

Second Semester Freshmen

  • Second semester freshmen staying in Bosch, Frisch or Dugan residence halls may choose from Plans 1, 2 or 3.

Sophomores

  • Upper classmen in Bosch, Frisch or Dugan Hall are required to choose from Plans 1, 2, 3 or 4.
 
Note: If you purchase Meal Plan 1, 2, 3 or 4 in the fall semester, it will automatically be added to your tuition bill in the spring semester, unless you change it within the first two weeks of the spring semester.

FLEX FUND

AND

SUPER FLEX PROGRAMS

 

  • The Canisius College Flex Fund is a program that allows students to use their college ID cards to make FOOD purchases at any of the dining service locations on campus.
  • A new Flex Fund account can be established with a minimum of $25.00 starting balance and additional funds can be added as needed with a minimum of $25.00. Flex fund balances are shown at each purchase transaction or can be checked upon request by asking any food service cashier. 
  • Flex fund purchases are tax-free and deposits can be applied to your tuition bill during the first two weeks of each semester only, then they must be prepaid. You may transfer funds from your Golden Choice to Flex Fund account at any time.
  • Flex Funds remaining at the end of the fall semester carry over to the spring semester.  Any funds remaining at the end of the spring semester are forfeited.

SUPER FLEX FUND
  • Enjoy maximum flexibility and dine at any location at any time.  No need to carry cash and food purchases are tax-free.
  • If you purchase Super Flex in the fall semester, it will automatically be added to your tuition bill in the spring semester, unless you change it within the first two weeks of the spring semester.
  • $600/semester (minimum $25 to increase).
  • Non-refundable and not available in the summer.

FLEX FUND ONLY
  • Enjoy maximum flexibility and dine at any location at any time.  No need to carry cash and food purchases are tax-free. Design your own plan with a minimum starting balance of $25 (minimum of $25 to increase).
  • Flex Funds are non-refundable and are not available in the summer.
  • Minimum starting balance of $25 (minimum $25 to increase).

THE GOLDEN CHOICE

  • The Golden Choice account is another option available to Canisius students.   Golden Choice purchases however, are taxable.  A Golden Choice account can be used for bookstore purchases, Street Side Cafe non-food purchases, vending machine purchases and any food purchase.  Golden Choice funds are completely refundable when the account is closed with the Student Accounts Office.  Golden Choice deposits must be prepaid by either cash, check, Mastercard, Visa or Discover.  New accounts can be opened with a minimum of $25.  You may transfer funds from your Golden Choice to Flex Fund account at any time.
