National Fettuccini Alfredo Day
It is a food holiday that celebrates an appreciation for fettuccine alfredo, a pasta dish that has a sauce made from cream, Parmesan cheese and butter. Common spices added to an alfredo sauce are nutmeg and pepper.
Fettuccine alfredo is cooked like many other pastas. The noodles have to be boiled in water, while the sauce is prepared separately. If meat or vegetables are added (as with Fettuccine Alfredo with Chicken and Broccoli) they should be cooked thoroughly before being added to the sauce.
